Transgender San Francisco (TGSF)

The largest open transgender social and support group in the Bay area. Activities include two social events each month, an educational meeting, bimonthly transsexual seminars, significant-other support group meetings, an annual Cotillion, a newsletter, and a hot line. TGSF members Cindy Martin and Jamie Fenton operate the Transgender Forum web site, which includes the TGSF Organization listing.

Membership: Full year (June 1- May 31) is $25 (Family $35), half year (Jan. 1-May 31, for new members only) is $10 (Family $15).

Diablo Valley Girls (DVG)

DVG holds social meetings on the first and third Monday of each month at 8PM at a transgender-friendly nightclub in Walnut Creek. DVG also sponsors a support group meeting and publishes a monthly newsletter.

Rainbow Gender Association (RGA)

RGA meets on the first and third Fridays of each month at 8PM at a transgender-friendly church in San Jose. RGA also holds a TG rap group meeting on the second Friday of each month, and a group dinner on the fourth and fifth Fridays. The RGA newsletter, the Rainbow, is published bimonthly. Changing facilities are available at the church. The RGA Web Page is now available.

Silicon Valley Gender Association (SVGA)

The SVGA is dedicated to providing advocacy, education, and support to the transgendered community. SVGA holds support group meetings on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at the Billy DeFrank Community Center, running from 7 to 9PM. The Political Action Committee meets on the third Tuesday (call for details). SVGA also maintains the TG section of the Community Center's library. SVGA has its own web page.

Sacramento Gender Association (SGA)
